Mission Context
The mission involves contributing to the development of a new Data Warehouse for the Benelux region, supporting critical business use cases such as IFRS9 compliance and payment probability calculations. The project is in its early stages, offering significant growth opportunities in the coming years.
The mission will be carried out within an agile team composed of analysts, developers, and architects spread across Brussels and Paris.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze data extracts required from operational systems to feed the raw layer of the Data Warehouse.
• Define and design data models for the conformed layer, consolidating sources into a unified data model based on business rules.
• Develop data models for datamarts in the exposition layer (e.g., Star Schema) to facilitate business consumption via visualization tools.
• Draft detailed requirements, including data models, mappings, and dictionaries, for developers and validate their work.
• Ensure high-quality data by conducting thorough data quality testing and validation.
• Collaborate closely with team members across different locations to achieve project goals.
Technical Skills Required
• Expertise in building or expanding Data Warehouses, Data Hubs, or Data Vaults (not as an end user).
• Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, mapping, and documentation for development teams.
• Strong experience in testing and ensuring data quality.

Experience Needed for This Freelance Role
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in Data Warehouse development projects.
• Familiarity with the credit, loans, or banking industry is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Information
Languages:
• Fluency in English is mandatory; fluency in French or Dutch is a plus.
Education:
• A Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering) is preferred; other academic backgrounds with substantial data knowledge are also welcome.
• Certifications in Data Modeling techniques are an advantage.
Location:
• Based in Brussels with occasional travel to Paris or Rotterdam (approximately one day every two months).
• Teleworking is allowed 50% of the time but must be conducted within Belgium. Remote work from abroad is not permitted.
